Come to Parliament (Kite) Hill to take part in a Kite flying event in solidarity with Afghan refugees run in partnership with Good Chance Theatre.
The event will involve:
Gathering with our kites from 12.30pm near the Hive (nearest postcode NW3 2TY) and walking up to Kite Hill
Kite flying and refreshments on Parliament (Kite) Hill (1-2.30pm) - meeting at the Parliament Hill Viewpoint
Poetry readings, Afghan music and dancing at the Parliament Hill Bandstand (2.30-4.30pm)
No need to book - just turn up and find out more about Afghan culture.
If you would like to take part, you can attend one our our kite-making workshops on 19th August and 20th August and then bring your kite to fly. Booking is essential for the workshops - details on our events page.
Can’t make it to a workshop? You make your own kite using instructions on the Good Chance Theatre website and bring it along to fly on the day or just come and watch!
This event is in solidarity with Afghan refugees, on the first anniversary of the fall of Kabul.
If you are a community group, you can order free kite-making resources for your group to make kites and bring them along on the day.
If you would like more info on how to get involved, do get in touch.
