Heath Friendly schools

Hampstead Heath School

Our Heath Friendly Schools membership is the perfect way to get your school involved in nature conservation and youth activities on Hampstead Heath.

Joining means your school is committed to help us protect and conserve Hampstead Heath, and ensures that we’ll support each other to help your pupils take part in worthwhile nature related projects, building lasting positive connections to our precious green spaces.

All schools are different, meaning membership is tailored to your requirements, and our mutual needs. Heath Friendly Schools can access a range of benefits:

  • free outings, nature days or guided activities outdoors on Hampstead Heath

  • conservation volunteering opportunities for classes and year groups

  • fundraising opportunities to support nature conservation and community projects

  • visits to your school from a Heath Ranger to talk about wildlife and conservation

  • virtual visits to and from the Heath - interactive and live!

  • free resources including Heath maps and Explorer Handbooks

  • access to our education facilities and teaching gardens and support to access health and wellbeing opportunities on the Heath

  • support from us to ‘green’ your school

  • outings or nature-based mindfulness on the Heath for your staff (e.g. for INSET days)

  • recognition of your support on our website, newsletters and social media - and use of the Heath Friendly Schools logo

Membership is free, but your school is encouraged to fundraise, or support us in other ways, and we can discuss ideas. Membership is open for all types of school, and can be for a whole school, year group or class.
